Vic and Ruth believed that the general public was unaware of the gourmet quality of their selected hybrid white popcorn as opposed to the more popular yellow popcorn (about 95% at that time). Their intent was to introduce gourmet white popcorn in selected flavors and other specialty items to the public. The popping method chosen was to use pure corn oil and flour salt so that as kernels exploded in the kettle, the desired flavor would coat the entire piece.

Barrel O'Fun Snack Foods purchased the Vic's Corn Popper operation in June of 1998, and moved the operation from Omaha, NE to Minnesota. Today, we continue to use that same process and high quality popcorn that was the Larson's initial mission.
